SO..short post because..I got home early from school and want to WoW. ^-^

I voted mmm....2 weeks ago? Or last week..I don't even remember and since I went to early vote at my library at 8:30am. No line or anything and it was GREAT! hahaha

I was listening on the radio and what the DJ said made me laugh he said something something something and then "I was standing in line and this guy behind me says 'SO you're excited for the new IPhone too huh?'" bwahahahaa

I don't know, I'm tired and that amused me. ^-^ I haven't used LJ for a while..hmmm I had so much to post before but..I never do. Oh so lazy....

Also, congrats to those who graduated! Oh man..I look forward to the day when I can FINALLY say that I graduated too. Ugh....I never thought that it would take me so long to graduate college but, oh well!! Things will happen that we can't predict. But I'm soo happy and proud of you guys!

And...I passed my basic skills test! On the first try! Most of you don't know (mostly because I've been trying not to think about it) that I took the basic skills test for teaching and stuff and I've been scared to death to know if I passed it or not. I took it in 3 and a half hours and didn't take the full 5 and it was fucking HARD. I was so stressed afterwards...-_- BUT I PASSED! WHOO! NOw I can go and actually be in the education program at ROosevelt! Well, if they accept me into it that is, hahahaha. *phew*

ACEN-I miss making my huge posts about everything and anything that happened but man I'm just not motivated anymore, hahahaha. But I also can't make those posts because the con has changed for me. I no longer see you guys often and I don't get to party with you guys. I love bing on staff but the one huge downer is not being able to chill with friends and people that I never EVER see.

but I'm glad I got to see most of you for some period of time, hahahaha. Renee, Lauren and Kevin, you guys looked so wonderful!! As usual, hahahaha

Mark---now not only snores, which I could sleep through for the most part, but he now talks in his sleep and hums...and kicks his leg which I could demonstrate very well, hahaha Adam was laughing so hard he fell on the floor. Mind you this was like....4-5am Friday morning or something? Oh Mark..Baker's 19...

I had a much more fun ACEN this year than last year though, I wasn't as tired and was actually able to chill with kuya Allen and the DJ crew for a while instead of sleeping like last year. Blargh. hmmm...DJ HeavyGrinder!! MY GOODNESS! When RJ told me that Allen said there's going to be a female DJ I was kind of skeptical about her but when I met her and talked to her, damn she's awesome! Not only pretty but down to earth and just--awesome. hahaha And she spins very well too.

uhh...oh man, I should've posted right after the con. *sigh* I just really wanted to say how wonderful it was seeing all of you, although I can't post much because I didn't really see anybody except for fellow staffers. I miss you guys!! hahaha I miss the days when I would be able to see and hang out with everyone.

ah welps....I have to go shower now, wheee!! And I will put pictures up relatively soon.

Is it weird that...I looove the smell of a basement? Like really...and garages depending... I don't know. I had a whole lot to write for this post but---I think I have so much on my mind right now that I forgot it all. I'm soooo....well stressed...I'm praying that I did well on my basic skills test and passed it. It only took me 3 and a half hours when I was expecting it to take at least 4. Thank goodness it didn't take me the whole 5 hours. blech

It's just that soo much has happened and so much WILL be happening, I feel like I'm not really in control of myself right now. Oh I'm not really complaining, a lot of the things that will be happening are REALLY GOOD things BUT I think I need to just finish this semester and I'll be ok. But in the meantime, I have to make some final decisions and do all this stuff.

GAAAAAH school. Why can't I just be done? *sigh*

My mind is everywhere so this post will NOT make any sense. ^-^. I was so off this morning that when I was at the computer lab at school, I had to keep trying to retype my username and password for password. I tried so hard........and I just couldn't get it right.

So apparently there are 16 registered sex offenders living in my immediate area of Schaumburg. I'm so tempted to pay the $10 to find out who they are and where they live......but I figured I'll do that when I have kids..but man. Isn't that a scary thought? Who knows who they might be?

EDIT: So I forgot to put that those 16 offenders in my area are actually pedophiles. I had looked them up specifically. Thanks to the site that Adam provided that did not require money, I found out that there are 72 sex offenders living within a 5 mile radius of my house.

and I am not paranoid John ^-^ but I did this for the sake of knowing and out of curiosity. And I know that in the future when I have kids of my own I WILL look these people up and use this to prevent anything from happening to my children. It does not mean I will be overprotective or paranoid, it just means that I will be aware of who is around and where. I would be a fool to not try to find out who lives on my street who could potentially run into my children....*phew*

These statistics kind of blow my mind though. I never thought that so many lived around me...hmmm interesting.

SO...let's see Reactor has existed for what 5 years now? The first year I cosplayed and I still want to thank Renee for making that possible and for making my costume. Although I have thought about cosplaying again I haven't had the time or energy to go and do it. And I like working the cons. ^-^

Uhm anyways...I've been on Security for 4 out of those 5 years and I have to say that...this..was probably the SLOWEST most boring reactor ever. It wasn't horrible because as June has repeatedly said, it's the PEOPLE. Seeing all of you of course, and also seeing those people that I love but only get to see a few times a year. Hanging out with people for a whole weekend is awesome but I was disappointed in how things ended.

I got to the con on Thursday, and it was pretty much uneventful except that Kathy went crazy because my xs shirt was missing and no one understood how it could have been taken because I am the only xs on security...and they might have said I was the only xs on staff. *shrug* I don't remember. Turns out..MALCOLM had it. HAHAHAHAAA RJ and I found it when we went to the room to drop our stuff off and he saw a shirt, that Malcolm had gotten, and said "Queenie...I found your shirt" He had it by accident because it said YOUTH XL..and someone other than the people in con-ops handed it to him I believe. And then..that was it.

Friday: Slow....veeerrrry slow. soooo slow that I was too tired to do anything at night. And yet I still didn't get that much sleep.

Saturday: You know that raffle Locke set up with all his stuff? GUESS WHO WON..TWICE?! Me!!!! Because I went and bought 15 tickets. ^-^ So I won on Saturday and Sunday. And no...it was not rigged....mean ol' Jim. I loved talking to and chillin' with Locke, Hugh, Iguill and all of those wonderful people. And I of course could not have made it through the weekend if it were not for you guys being around and some being on staff.

Nothing big happened this con that really caused any of us stress because you probably know that a lot of people went to the other convention...thus the lack of people and dealers. Oh well.. that was for the best anyways seeing as how the staff was really small.

I was actually incredibly awake. Maybe it's because I watched baby Dom for like 2 hours..and then he fell asleep so I carried him for well over an hour, but I just wasn't tired. But then..nothing really happened. OH! Mark came after saying he wouldn't come, hehehehe. I had a shot of Godiva then we all went down to the dance..I went cuz I wanted to see Taz and then...nothing. I do wish I had stayed with Lee and everyone..I mean you guys were right across the freakin' hall but I thought I would sleep. BUt then I got into bed and didn't sleep..sTUPID!

oh...Lee...STOOPID! How many times did I say that to you...and Adam? hahahaha I heart you guys..really...but STOOPID!

Sunday...did the last of my "shopping" I had a hard time finding good cell phone straps..and there were a few things I regretted buying but oh well. RJ got me all 8 colors for Yoshi. heeheehee YAY! they're so kute, and I won him the huge painting from something I don't remember but everyone was jealous and Malcolm was mad...ok not really but he wanted it for his brother but didn't know how he would have gotten it back home. And also this other old figure things that was cool.

Said bye to people after hanging out for a bit and then--left. All of day shift security left at 2 because Hugh said it was ok and there was nobody around. Which was weird for me because I'm used to staying until 4-5 on the last day of Reactor to be there when the dealer's room closes.

The hotel was cool and the hotel staff was awesome, they were so open and friendly. I got to know quite a few of them! The rooms..were nice but made everything really dry and like Hugh said..there had to be SOMETHING in their water..did anyone else notice?

all in all....it was pretty ok but moved really slow. I miss the people and the hanging out and not worrying about what time I needed to get home. ^-^ I'll put up pictures on Facebook. HAH!

So school has started...I'm..pretty ok with my schedule..it still allows me to work monday wednesday and Friday just....not the whole day cuz I have class. *prays* please God...let me finish my education at Harper and Roosevelt ON TIME!...okok..so by the time I hopefully graduate I'll already be 3 years late but....I'm just glad I've finally decided on things and am on the right track.

So...I've been thinking about my years at UIC and..while I regret not making it there, I can honestly say that I do NOT regret everything that happened. I gained so much from those 3 years... a bosom buddy ^-^, many close friends who I consider sisters and brothers, and so many memories were made. SO not everything was always peachy keen but...damn those were good times. I wish I had a digital then cuz I would have a TON more pictures than I do now.

There were rough times then too though...I lost the really close friendship with someone, and I hope that we can rebuild that one day in the future, I didn't do well at ALL in my classes and I felt like an utter failure. Especially to my family....

BUT...I think that..maybe it was meant to be like that, I mean...if I didn't leave UIC I would have never gotten into the elementary program with my grades or if I did no one would hire me, hehe. but NOW I'm getting a fresh start and with THESE grades, I'll be able to go farther.

I guess basically I'm trying to say is that while I wish I had graduated at UIC and not left and that some things that happened had not happened I'm so thankful for all the good that happened. Even though we don't see each other so much anymore, I want to let my friends (that's you guys) know that you will always be important to me.

I mean...I can't believe I met you guys when I was in high school and then some of you during my first year of college..uhm, does anyone feel old yet? ^-^ I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! And..now I have to go read for class, hahaha (LOOK!! I'm studying!!)

..Home....it's so bittersweet man. I miss my family and Canada already. It always takes us 10 hours to get there but then 12 hours to get home.

School starts in a week...I guess I'm ready, I don't know why I don't dread school as much anymore, I just dread not being to do things when I want to. I miss my family!!! GAAAAH! I'm so tired and I need to unpack and I have work tommorrow.

I hope everyone had a great week and everything...my little cousins are so cute, the New York families left 2 days earlier than we did and when they got home, my little cousin Serena missed us so much she couldn't stop crying and finally her dad called us and she talked to us....while crying..in her sad little 10 year old voice. Lesley says she's like me, hahahahahaha and I remember that's how we used to be when we were younger and went on Canada/New York trips...

OK!...time to go eat, unpack and sleep sleep sleep
